Exploring hand ventilation techniques through abnormal means and models.

In the spring of 2020 I had the privilege of taking a fabrications course with one of my all time favorite professors and mentors Lirit Pendell. The course was divided into two segments, the first of which was geared towards learning new skill each week from prosthetics to modeling to leather work. During the second segment we were tasked with creating a full scale project expanding on the skills we felt were most valuable.

Intrigued by the premise of facial hair, something that I have never directly experienced, and drawn to the methodical nature - New Rogaine was born. Having never ventilated before, aside from the week of focused course work, I was curious to explore what the form had to offer. Playing with shapes, colors, textures, styles, materials, and models I explored what it meant to have facial hair as an accessory.
