I Name You, a new work by Rebecca Kane, from One Egg No Batter Productions, follows a disastrous party and sexual assault. Sophia and Angela have kidnapped a frat boy to get every bit of revenge they could ever dream of, and build the most realistic voodoo doll their teenage dreams have ever seen. When emotions run high, unexpected information is revealed, and the torture begins, their basement turns into a special kind of hell, with each different demon grappling for control.
This fully virtual production, with cast and crew from all over the United States, was an honor to engage with. Tackling many difficult themes, this piece offered ample opportunities for growth, education, and engagement on both a personal and professional level. Taking many of the lessons to heart, and gaining experience with intimacy in the rehearsal space, tackling pre-recorded performance, working across time zones, and trouble shooting technologies.
"...just take care of yourselves out there and be carful for all those guys out there. Even if they seem cool. Even if they're super talented and hot and whatever. Just. be. carful."
